Still, I didn't buy it for the steam vent... perfect otherwise.

I have purchased them for all of my pots and pans that they fit, saucepans, saute pans, dutch ovens, etc. The feature that sets them apart from all other covers is the steam-escape knob. You can dial it for an air tight cover, or for a little or a lot of air to escape. This allows for far fewer boil-overs and more precise simmering temperatures. And since they are glass you can monitor what's happening. I recommend them to everybody.
